Online Clinic: Ask the experts about female urology problems details

The Urology Foundation is teaming up with talkhealth to look specifically at areas of urology that affect women. Whatever your question is, if you’re a woman with concerns about your urological function, be it your kidneys, bladder, or anything urine based, you can ask our panel of friendly experts who will be answering your questions on Thursday 21 March but the clinic will be open from Monday 18 March for you to post your questions in advance.

It is estimated that around 1 in 3 women are affected by incontinence in their lifetime. Often this is as a result of childbirth and manifests itself when coughing or laughing. Whilst many women might consider this something they can put it up with, it is something that can and should be treated.

Equally, women are more likely to encounter a UTI (around half of all women will have a UTI in their lifetime) or suffer from chronic UTIs. Because women are so prone to UTIs and incontinence, this can also mean that bladder cancer symptoms are sometimes written off as a UTI or incontinence.
